The two production companies do not plan the movie to tell a story about Weinstein himself, but rather about two women who bring down the movie mogul.

AceShowbiz - People seemingly won't give Harvey Weinstein a break after his sexual harassment scandal arose. Annapurna Pictures and Plan B Entertainment have partnered to acquire the right to film behind-the-scenes of Harvey Weinstein's sexual harassment scandal which arose last fall, according to Deadline. The two studios will treat the story to become a "Spotlight"-esque movie.

New York Times reporters Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey worked together to bring Harvey Weinstein to justice. They detailed numerous accusations against the movie mogul for the past decades in an October 5, 2017 article. The article revealed the amount of money Weinstein paid to cover the sexual harassment, which he denied.

After the news arose, topic about Weinstein's scandal quickly became a hit. Weinstein was kicked out of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences. Moreover, TWC Board of Directors agreed to fire him. The once-viable company soon plunged into bankruptcy. Weinstein is currently being investigated by law enforcement in New York, Los Angeles and the U.K.

Kantor and Twohey's article earned them a Pulitzer Prize for their details of the biggest scandal story that Hollywood has seen in decades. They shared the prize with Ronan Farrow, who worked for The New Yorker.

According Deadline, the planned movie will not tell a story about Weinstein or his scandal. Instead, it will center on two women who brought down the movie mogul. It will also highlight #MeToo movement and bold women who come forward, telling their own experiences of sexual harassment.

Brad Pitt-headlined production company Plan B Entertainment and Megan Ellison's media banner Annapurna Pictures have neither announced the scriptwriter nor director yet, as they just acquired the right.

Plan B Entertainment produced a slew of films in 2017 such as "Brad's Status" and "The Lost City of Z". Meanwhile, Annapurna Pictures released "The Bad Batch", "Detroit", "Professor Marston & The Wonder Women" and "Phantom Thread" in the same year. The company's "Sorry to Bother You" will open on July 6.
