AceShowbiz - %cMargot Robbie% has entered negotiations to play %cSharon Tate% in %cQuentin Tarantino%'s next film. The Australian beauty had long been rumored being eyed for the said role in "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood", and now Deadline reports that talks are underway to make it happen.
The "Suicide Squad" actress was previously being coy when asked about her possible involvement in the Charles Manson movie, saying, "Nothing's official... but I would kill to work with [Tarantino]." Should the deal be sealed, she will star opposite %cBrad Pitt% and %cLeonardo DiCaprio%, who have been tapped to take the lead roles.
Set in Los Angeles in 1969, at the height of hippy Hollywood, the film follows Rick Dalton (DiCaprio), former star of a western TV series, and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Pitt). Both are struggling to make it in a Hollywood they don't recognize anymore. But Rick has a very famous next-door neighbor...Sharon Tate.
Tate was an American actress and model. She was killed by Charles Manson's cult members in 1969 when she was eight months pregnant with her and %cRoman Polanski%'s baby. She was 26.
Tarantino said last month, "I've been working on this script for five years, as well as living in Los Angeles County most of my life, including in 1969, when I was seven years old. I'm very excited to tell this story of an L.A. and a Hollywood that don't exist anymore. And I couldn't be happier about the dynamic teaming of DiCaprio & Pitt as Rick & Cliff."
Robbie is fresh off her critically-acclaimed performance as disgraced figure skater Tonya Harding in biopic "I, Tonya". She earned best actress nominations at the Academy Award, Golden Globe, SAG and BAFTA Award ceremonies for the role.
