AceShowbiz - %cKelly Clarkson% has created a beautiful song called "I've Loved You Since Forever", which is inspired by %cHoda Kotb%'s new children's book of the same name. The music video for the track was premiered on March 8 on "Today".
The approximately one-and-a-half-minute clip features the songstress recording in the studio, showcasing her gorgeous vocals. "Before birds flew over rainbows/ And monkeys swung on trees/ There was you, and there was me," she sings over soft acoustic guitar. "Before the sunset in the sky/ And honey came from bees/ There was you, and there was me."
During the show, the "American Idol" winner said of the song, "I made it more like a lullaby, like %cJames Taylor% -- like there's kind of some %cPatty Griffin% in it. I'm actually more nervous than singing normal songs, since I know how important it is to [Hoda]."
Hoda personally asked Kelly to sing the words to her book, which is dedicated to her adopted daughter Haley. "This is how I ask anyone to do anything -- 'You can't and that's fine, don't worry,' -- and she's like, 'Let me try,' " she recalled of her interaction with the singer. "I went to the Olympics, she said, 'I'm gonna send you voice notes at the Olympic.' I got crickets, I was like, it's not happening, it's fine."
But it turned out Kelly was instantly on board. "I get back Monday morning, I look at the rundown, I see Kelly Clarkson's name, I'm like, 'Oh no, she's here, now she's gonna feel weird and I'm sorry,' " she added. "And she said to me, 'I have it.' And so the next day we went across the street to a studio ...she sang the words to that book and I melted."
Profits from each download and stream of the song will be donated to Helpusadopt.org, an organization which provides grants to parents who need help covering the costs of adoption.
