The two series will be playing musical chairs from mid-January to June since upcoming series 'Black Lightning' is set to air on Monday nights slot beginning on January 16.

AceShowbiz - The CW has made a shocking move regarding its Monday night slot in early 2018. After announcing that new series "Black Lightning" will be displacing "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" in midseason schedule, the network is moving the latter to Mondays at 8 P.M. in 2018.

It's such an intriguing adjustment, since "Supergirl" season 3 also airs on the time slot. Now that "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" has been moved to the same Monday nights slot, it means "Supergirl" and "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" will literally taking turns to air their respective original episodes.

After the holidays, "Supergirl" will air for four weeks from January 15 to February 5. "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" will later follow it up the next week, airing nine weeks until April 9, when the show concludes the current season 3.

After nine-week long break, "Supergirl" later will fly back to the timeslot on April 16 for the rest of its brand new episodes of the third season. "Supergirl" will air its season finale on June 18. The move offers fans 23 consecutive weeks of original episodes.

Monday, January 15 - February 5 8 P.M: "Supergirl" (New Episodes)

Monday, February 12 - April 9 8 P.M: "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" (New Episodes)

Monday, April 16 - June 18 8 P.M: "Supergirl" (New Episodes)

It seems like The CW is confident that even with such schedule alteration, both "Supergirl" and " DC's Legends of Tomorrow" will still be going off strong in terms of ratings. "Supergirl" and "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" recently joined forces with other Arrowverse series on the network, "The Flash" and "Arrow", in last month's four-way crossover event titled "Crisis on Earth-X".

Meanwhile, "Black Lightning" is scheduled to premiere on January 16, 2018 at 8 P.M. on The CW. Marking the first black superhero show on the network's Arrowverse, "Black Lightning" follows Jefferson Pierce (Cress Williams) reprising his role as the masked vigilante Black Lightning after crime and corruption spread like wildfire, putting the lives of his family and community in danger.
