AceShowbiz - John Mayer has been hospitalized in New Orleans due to appendicitis. His representative confirms that the "Your Body Is a Wonderland" hitmaker was admitted to the hospital on early Tuesday, December 5 to undergo an emergency appendectomy.

Due to his hospitalization, the Dead & Company concert originally scheduled for December 5 in New Orleans had to be postponed. Dead & Company was formed in 2015 after Mayer developed an interest in the Grateful Dead. The band consists of the 40-year-old rocker, three former Grateful Dead musicians, Bob Weir, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann, as well as keyboardist Jeff Chimenti and bassist Oteil Burbridge.

Mayer's bandmates have taken to Twitter and Instagram to wish him a speedy recovery. "Wishing a speedy recovery for John. Get well soon my friend," Weir tweeted along with a photo of him with the "Love on the Weekend" crooner.

Burbridge shared his own photo with Mayer on Instagram. "John, get well soon brother!" he simply wrote.
