'Project Runway' Vet Wendy Pepper Dies at 53

The designer died peacefully on Sunday, November 12, while the cause of her death is not specified.

AceShowbiz - Anne Eustis Pepper Stewart a.k.a Wendy Pepper, who appeared in the first season of "Project Runway", has died peacefully. She was 53.

The designer died on Sunday, November 12, surrounded by her loving family, according to an obituary posted on The Washington Post. However, the cause of her death has yet to be revealed.

"She was a chef, a writer, and a life-long entrepreneur. Her wit and humor were unmatched, as was her generosity of spirit," the obituary states.

The Washington D.C.-based artist is survived by her daughter Finley, her parents, Anne Livingston Emmet and Charles Willing Pepper, three brothers, a sister and many adoring nieces and nephews.

"We are saddened to hear of the passing of another member of the 'Project Runway' family, designer Wendy Pepper, this year," a spokesperson for Lifetime told Page Six on Friday. "Wendy was one of the original designers that sent creations down the catwalk, paving the way for other designers to come. We wish her family and friends peace during this difficult time."

When she participated on the Lifetime show back in 2004, Wendy made it to the finals at Fashion Week and came in third place. During her time on the show, Wendy won several challenges, including a chance to have one of her designs sold at Banana Republic as well as to design Nancy O'Dell's Grammy dress.

In addition, Wendy appeared on the second season of "Project Runway All Stars" which aired in 2012 and 2013. Her TV credits also included "Celebrity Poker Showdown" and "Battle of the Network Reality Stars".

Born in Dayton, Ohio in 1964, Wendy was raised in Washington. She was a graduate of the University of Washington and debuted in a fashion line in D.C. in 2006.

Funeral service is set to be held on Friday, December 1 at 10.30 A.M. at Christ Church, Washington D.C.
