'Stranger Things' Actor Charlie Heaton Apologizes After Deported From U.S. for Carrying Drugs

The Jonathan Byers depicter is denied entry to the United States after busted for carrying cocaine at Los Angeles International Airport.

AceShowbiz - Charlie Heaton apologized to his fans following his recent run-in with the law. The British actor was allegedly detained at Los Angeles International Airport for carrying cocaine. He was sent back to his native country following the drug bust at LAX.

"My planned travel to the U.S. last week was affected by an issue at U.S. immigration, and I am working to rectify it as soon as possible," the 23-year-old actor told PEOPLE following the debacle. He didn't mention anything about drugs in his statement.

He also insisted that he was not arrested, "I do want to clarify that I was not arrested or charged with a crime, and cooperated fully with the U.S. officials at LAX. I'm sorry to all the fans and my 'Stranger Things' family for missing the premiere. We are all so proud of this season and I would never want this story to negatively impact the show."

"Stranger Things" has just kicked off season 2. Charlie Heaton played Jonathan Byers, an onscreen son of Winona Ryder's character. They return for the sophomore set along with David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard and Millie Bobby Brown. The show is confirmed to continue with a third installment. The producers even have already planned for a fourth one.

On the big screen, Heaton recently starred in drama horror called "Marrowbone". He will next appear as Cannonball in superhero movie "The New Mutants". He will reunite with Anya Taylor-Joy who is cast as Magik. They will be joined by Maisie Williams as Wolfsbane, Henry Zaga as Sunspot, Blu Hunt as Mirage, and Alice Braga as their mentor.

The "X-Men" spin-off is directed by "The Fault in Our Stars" helmer Josh Boone. Based on Marvel comics, the movie is envisioned as horror inspired by the works of Stephen King and John Hughes. It's scheduled to come out in the United States on April 13, 2018.
