AceShowbiz - Kathy Griffin is mourning the loss of her sister Joyce. The former co-host of CNN's New Year's Eve broadcast broke the news on Twitter that Joyce died after a couragous battle against cancer. "My sister Joyce passed away peacefully last night," she wrote on Thursday, September 14.

Kathy posted a short clip of Joyce on hospital bed as she was wowed by two musicians who treated her to an acoustic live performance from the door of her hospital room. The video was followed by a couple of photos from Joyce's happier days.

"This is where she always wanted to be...," Kathy concluded with a cartoon image of a woman similing and holding a drink while enjoying a sunny day on a beach, "and now she's having a Mai Tai on a beach in Heaven."

In July, Kathy saved her head in solidarity with her sister who was undergoing chemotherapy back then. "My daughter Kathleen Mary is a wonderful human being," her mother Maggie applauded the TV personality for going bald to support Joyce.

Back in 2014, Kathy also lost her brother Gary to cancer. He passed away after battling esophageal cancer for two years. "This AM my brave brother Gary Griffin passed away in palliative care after a brutal struggle w cancer," she announced back then.

"Our last real conversation, w my brother I loved so much, was just a few days go when I got him this signed picture from his idol, @JoeWalsh," she remembered before adding, "He loved the Eagles, 70s rock, The Chicago White Sox and the Xavier 'muskies' ... Oh & he was funny as [expletive]."

Kathy Griffin was fired by CNN after she faced backlash for holding a bloody head that resembled Donald Trump in a photo shoot. Due to the scandal, her relationship with co-host Anderson Cooper was strained. While the Silver Fox insisted they're still friends, she said their friendship was over.
