The 'Stitches' singer got his arms pinned behind his back by Drizzy's bodyguard for trying to touch the rapper during The Weeknd's gig in Toronto.

AceShowbiz - Believe me, you don't want to mess with Drake's bodyguard. Shawn Mendes learned this the hard way. During his recent appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon", the "Mercy" hitmaker revealed that he almost got beaten up by Drizzy's security guard for trying to say hi.

The incident happened earlier this year when Shawn caught a glimpse of Drake in the VIP area during The Weeknd's Toronto show. However, when the 19-year-old singer tried to approach the "Hotline Bling" hitmaker and touch his side, things took an unexpected turn.

"The other night, I was in Toronto and I went to see The Weeknd. I'm watching The Weeknd, and we're up on this riser, and Drake's also there watching the show with like another few artists and stuff," Shawn explained. "And I go over like, 'Oh, that's Drake. I'll go say hi. He must remember me from previous experiences like twice.' "

"So I go over and I see him. He's a huge guy right? So you don't just go over to him. I guess not," he continued. "So I go over to touch his side, and his 6'6", 300 pound security guard...next thing I know I'm in the middle of The Weeknd show with my arm hooked behind my back. Drake's security guard just has me completely at his mercy."

"And I'm like, 'Oh no!' I see Drake look over, and in my eyes it was like, 'Please help me. Please, Drake,' " Shawn added. "In that moment, if he didn't remember who I was, I probably would have... I don't know what I would have done. I would've been in jail, yeah."

Concluding his story, Shawn said, "For the security guard's sake, he was doing his job, but still it was terrifying. Don't expect everybody to know who you are."

The Canadian singer is currently hitting the road for a world tour in support of "Illuminate" while also working on new album. "We're trying to plan everything so that there's time to make music, too," he previously said. "I'll be writing and recording a lot on the road. I want to make sure I have a good amount of time to create the next album."
