The 'Trainwreck' star makes a coed who waits table at a Boston restaurant 'really happy' when she leaves a huge tip.

AceShowbiz - Amy Schumer is a big tipper. The "Trainwreck" actress gave a huge tip to a college studdent who waits table at a Boston restaurant. The star grabbed meal with an unindentified male companion and left a $500 tip on an $80 tab during her recent visit to The Union Oyster House.

Schumer's server, a coed who attends Emmaneul College, was "really happy" with the generous tip. "She was excited to be serving her, but then to get that kind of a tip was something else," restaurant owner Joe Milano told PEOPLE. "She's a hard worker and I'm happy for her."

"She was very nice," he said of Schumer. "She said to [the server] that she was once a waitress and knew how hard it was." He added, "She was dressed very casually - a baseball cap, sunglasses, no makeup ... it seemed like she didn't want to be recognized. It was early, like 5:30 or 6, so it wasn't busy, but we sat her in a back dining room area that wasn't being used so she had her privacy."

The 36-year-old actress was in town to shoot a comedy "I Feel Pretty". The new movie is about a woman who is struggling with insecurity. It's supported by Michelle Williams, Emily Ratajkowski and Rory Scovel, Aidy Bryant and Busy Philipps. It's due June 29, 2018.

Last year, Amy Schumer left bartenders at New York City's Richard Rodgers Theatre a $1,000 tip on a $77 check when attending a performance of "Hamilton" with her friends. "It's because it does make me feel great and I feel like I have no other choice," she told Howard Stern. "For me, when I was living in a studio in Astoria, if somebody left me $1,000, that would change my month."

She also once bought a store employee a $2,000 mattress for letting her use the bathroom. "Other places were like 'no,' " she said. "But this woman, she was just sweet. You know when you just see someone and you're like 'I just love you.' I said 'I'd like to buy it for you.' She didn't recognize me or anything. And then I saw that it became like news."
