Chris Martin and his bandmate debut a new song and dedicate it to the people affected by Hurricane Harvey in Texas.

AceShowbiz - Coldplay sent prayers and support for Hurricane Harvey victims. Chris Martin and his bandmates dedicated their brand new song called "Houston" during their tour stop at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida on Monday evening, August 28.

"This is because we all grew up loving country music, and of course that's kind of what we think of when we go to Texas," the frontman said. "So, if you'll bear with us, this is a new song and we'll never play this again. It's a once off and it's called 'Houston.' We're gonna sing it in Miami for everybody here, and we're gonna send it over there to everyone who missed the show."

The British band was supposed to take the stage at Houston's NRG Stadium on Friday night, August 25, but they were forced to postpone it due to the approaching storm. Mary J. Blige, Lady Antebellum, Simple Plan and The Piano Guys also canceled their shows due to bad weather.

Hillary Scott, Dave Haywood and Charles Kelley vowed to donate proceeds from the sales of their merchandise to Houston. "Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by #HurricaneHarvey," they wrote on Twitter over the weekend. "We are so sad to have had to cancel our show in Houston tonight. Last night, we played a show up the street in Dallas and all of our merch proceeds will be going towards hurricane relief funds."

In the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Harvey in Houston, Kevin Hart started an initiative to raise fund for the relief efforts and urged fellow celebrities to make donations. The Kardashians, Jennifer Lopez, Alex Rodriguez, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Chris Brown and T.I. were among those who answered his call.

Beyonce Knowles also announced plan to help the victims. Other celebrities pledging donations and support to Houston included Drake, DJ Khaled, Ellen DeGeneres, Chris Young and Jared Leto.
