AceShowbiz - Everyone is excited once NBC announced that they would revive fan-favorite comedy "Will & Grace", and this new report seemingly will further excite fans. In Touch Weekly reports that Michelle Obama is set to guest star in an episode of the upcoming new season.
"Former first lady Michelle Obama will appear on the show," the insider reveals. "The details are still being worked out, but supposedly Michelle is up for anything, as long as it doesn't cross the line too much."
The episode will likely to touch on politics issues, but the former FLOTUS reportedly "will not be taking any personal jabs at President Donald Trump." The insider adds, "The writers will leave that to the rest of the cast," which includes Debra Messing, Sean Hayes, Megan Mullally and Eric McCormack.
"Everyone associated with the show is so excited about landing Michelle," the insider goes on saying. "They think the episode will be comedy gold and a ratings hit."
Should Michelle appear on the show, she will be the latest guest star to appear on the upcoming revived show. "Will & Grace" previously announced that "Dear Evan Hansen" and "Pitch Perfect" star Ben Platt and Harry Connick Jr. would be making cameo appearances on the show.
The upcoming new season will feature a lavish musical episode, which was teased in the trailer. Even before the 16-episode part season 1 airs, NBC decided to renew the show for another season. "We're a very grateful network and we're more than thrilled to have this show for a minimum of two seasons," said NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt when he announced the 13-episode season 2 renewal.
The original series ran from 1998 to 2006 on NBC. Revolving around a gay man, Will (Eric), and his best friends, Grace (Debra), Jack (Sean) and Karen (Megan), the comedy won 16 Primetime Emmy Awards over its run.
