Will there be another royal wedding soon? Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who jetted off to Africa on the actress' birthday, are said to be engaged after he asked her to marry him during a camping trip to Botswana.
According to Daily Star, Harry asks his pal Prince Seeiso of Lesotho to work with the King and Queen of Zulu to make him and Meghan bracelets that symbolize betrothal in Zulu. The couple is already wearing blue, white and black Zulu beads that symbolize their love for each other.
The proposal is an intimate and special moment for Harry. "The setting and the bracelets were just so special to Harry," a source tells the website. "He has always felt close to Diana in Africa and it was her who taught him about the meaning of the tribal beads as she spent so much time there."
"Harry feels like he can be himself in Africa and the whole proposal was the private, free and expressive moment he had hoped for," the source continues, before adding it becomes even more special because they have to keep it "their secret" for a few weeks.
The Buckingham Palace won't announce the engagement until the Queen, who was said to be against their relationship, gives permission to the couple to get married. "The world is watching, so the royal red tape needs to be adhered to," the source shares. "Meghan won't be landing at Heathrow with a giant rock on her finger."
The source explains that Harry wants to announce the engagement soon although they still need the Queen's permission. "Harry's told his friends he's hoping to make the official announcement in September," the source dishes.
The Queen may still have some doubts about Meghan, but Zara Phillips' husband Mike Tindall is sure that the 36-year-old actress will be able to fit in with the royal family well and survive the public scrunity. "It comes with a lot of history and the family that it is. It's obviously nerve-racking," he tells Sunday People. "But she has been under enough scrutiny and pressure in her day-to-day life so I'm sure she will get through it. She will be fine."
