'Orphan Black' Creators Tease Potential Movie
TV

Creator John Fawcett dishes on what the potential feature will be about, indicating that it may follow Delphine and Cosima and explore 'the kinds of women they're going to meet in their journeys.'

AceShowbiz - Last night, "Orphan Black" just wrapped itself after five seasons with a big time jump. But it won't be the end of the Clone Club, since creators John Fawcett and Graeme Manson are already planning to bring Sarah (Tatiana Maslany) and the Clone Club to the big screen.

"We've talked since the beginning of wanting to do some kind of feature or some kind of two-hour continuation of the series," shares Fawcett to Entertainment Weekly. However, he tells Deadline that the movie will not be in "the near, near future." It doesn't mean it won't happen though, as he says, "[It's] something that we've certainly always talked about and talked about as a group amongst the cast. So it's not something that we're keeping to ourselves. It's something that we aspire to do at some point."

Manson further explains in a separate interview, " 'Orphan Black' began in 2001 as a feature film concept that John and I came up with and we could never contain this crazy universe in a single movie."

He continues, "Maybe now we can. Maybe now that we spat out a bunch of story on TV, maybe there is a concept that would support a feature. At the moment we're resting, we're going to let those characters rest a while. I have a feeling they're going to come back to haunt us in the best way."

[SPOILER ALERT!] As for what the potential movie will be about, Fawcett shares that it may be exploring the story of Cosima, one of Sarah's clones, and her partner Delphine (Evelyn Brochu), who in the finale are seen embarking on a new journey to find the remaining 274 Leda clones around the world. "Certainly I love thinking about where Delphine and Cosima are going to have to go and the kinds of women they’re going to meet in their journeys and their travels," he says.

"We've spent so much time creating diversity in our Leda clones and making all these different individuals that represent all sorts of aspects of the world and culture and society that just thinking about that makes me think there's all these other stories to tell," he goes on saying.
