First look at Steven Spielberg's "Ready Player One" has arrived in the form of photo. Making its way out online via Entertainment Weekly, the image introduces Tye Sheridan as Parzival a.k.a. Wade Watts in the upcoming film adaptation of Earnest Cline's novel of the same name.

Parzival can be seen wearing his VR visor and haptic gloves in an old van covered in old comics, newspaper clippings and other artifacts from the '80s. An orphan living in the destitute trailer with his aunt and 15 other strangers, he escapes into The Oasis, a virtual reality created by famed developer James Halliday, played by Oscar winner Mark Rylance.

Parzival's closest friends and allies are people he's never met in real life. They are Art3mis (Olivia Cooke), Aech (Lena Waithe) and I-R0k (T.J. Miller). Meanwhile, their greatest foe in this quest is Nolan Sorrento (Ben Mendelsohn), who is IOI's murderous chief of Oology.

In an interview with EW, Cline said that his novel wouldn't be what it was "if I hadn't grown up on a steady diet of Steven Spielberg movie." He continued, "His work directly influenced the narrative and the way that I told the story. So to have him directing, it's too perfect to even be possible. And somehow it's happened."

More details about the film will likely be revealed at Comic-Con next weekend. "Ready Player One" hits theaters across the nation on March 30, 2018.
