During a recent interview, the former 'Live' co-host praises his successor, saying that Ryan 'is doing great' as well as wishing a good luck to the daytime talk show.

AceShowbiz - Former "Live" co-host Michael Strahan loves how his replacement, Ryan Seacrest, is doing on the daytime talk show. During an interview with E! News at the 2017 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Sports Awards, the "Good Morning America" anchor weighed in on Ryan.

"He's doing great. He's doing great," Michael said on Thursday, July 14. "I'm happy for him and good luck to the show."

Once Michael learnt that Ryan was set as the permanent co-host replacing him on the show, he sent the radio personality a bottle of wine. "Live" first host Regis Philbin, meanwhile, offered Ryan some advice for his first day hosting the show with Kelly Ripa. "He said to me, 'Ryan, I was most worried about doing something the night before so we had something to talk about in the first 20 minutes of the show, so just make sure you're doing something,' " Ryan revealed.

Michael left "Live" in May 2016 to become a permanent anchor on ABC's "GMA". Kelly revealed that she was blindsided over her partner's sudden departure and sat out the show for four weekdays.
