Relax, Guys! Gal Gadot's $300K Paycheck Doesn't Include Box Office Performance Bonuses

Contrary to the viral and misleading story that Gal Gadot of 'Wonder Woman' made 46 times less than Henry Cavill as Superman, the two were paid the same for their debut solo movies.

AceShowbiz - Gal Gadot was paid the same as Henry Cavill for their debut solo movies despite viral and misleading story that the actress was paid significantly less than the actor. Gadot and Cavill were both paid $300.000 each for their first solo outings as Wonder Woman and Superman respectively.

As previously reported, internet went into a frenzy as Gadot's salary was said to be 46 times less than her DC counterpart Cavill. In a 2016 Forbes article, the actor who was also relatively unknown when making his debut as Superman in "Man of Steel" was reported to bag a whopping $14 million.

Actually, Gadot's $300.000 is just the base salary for each movie she's starred thus far in the DC Universe. While Cavill's initial salary for his debut solo outing in the 2013 movie could not be confirmed, his reported $14 million earnings included bonuses for box office performance.

As stated by a source with knowledge of studio negotiations on DC movies, Cavill's reported $14 million "certainly isn't for one picture." The source told Vanity Fair, "That's insane." Of Gadot's salary, the source said, "Entry-level actors in franchise films are paid an initial rate. As a franchise takes off, they stand to make more money."

"Wonder Woman" has grossed nearly $600 million worldwide since its release earlier this month. If Gadot signed a deal similar to Cavill's, the "Wonder Woman" bonus checks "will soon be rolling in-and the sequels could be even more lucrative."

A source familiar with both Cavill and Gadot's contract negotiations added, "If you do an apples to apples comparison, she was paid at least as much as he was."
