Gal Gadot Only Paid $300K for 'Wonder Woman'
Movie

Find out how the Israeli actress' salary is compared to those of superhero actors like Henry Cavill, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth and Robert Downey Jr.

AceShowbiz - Gal Gadot's paycheck for her first solo debut as Wonder Woman has allegedly been revealed. The Israeli actress reportedly earned $300,000 for each of her first three appearances in DC movies that included "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and "Justice League".

This report sends the internet into a frenzy as Gadot's salary is rumored to be significantly less than that of her DC counterpart Henry Cavill. In a 2016 Forbes article, the actor who was also relatively unknown when making his debut as Superman in "Man of Steel" was reported to bag a whopping $14 million.

Gal Gadot and Warner Brothers haven't given any comment on the alleged salary gap, but newer reports suggest that Gadot actually got the same upfront amount as Cavill. The $14M he got for "Man of Steel" was rumored to be an overall deal for multiple pictures that included bonuses while the $300K Gadot received for "Wonder Woman" was only her base salary for one movie.

Furthermore, many point out that Gadot actually made the same amount as other superhero film stars did for their debut standalone outings. Chris Evans got $300,000 for 2011's "Captain America: The First Avenger", Chris Hemsworth only made around $200,000 for his leading role in the first "Thor" movie, while Robert Downey Jr. made $500,000 for the first "Iron Man" film in 2008.

Downey Jr. jumped to bagging a whopping $10 million for reprising his role in "Iron Man 2" while Evans got $7 million for his third Marvel outing in "Avengers: Age of Ultron". Gadot, who signed a three-picture deal with WB, will also likely get a substantial raise for her return to "Wonder Woman 2" which has been in the works due to the huge success of the first film.
