People might think that with Ryan Seacrest joining "Live" as Kelly Ripa's new co-host, the show will set high ratings for each episode. However, a new report suggests that the daytime talk show's ratings have plummeted significantly.
While the episode during Ryan's first day on set earned a decent rating of 2.6|percent|, the ratings later dropped with each passing week. According to Radar Online, the show "declined a whopping 12 percent in TV ratings from the series’ week 1 to week 2."
In addition, national Nielsen rating numbers reported that "Live" ratings decreased extremely this May. The show's rating decreased a staggering 25|percent| for this May as compared to last May 2016 when Michael Strahan was still co-hosting the show.
The reason behind the bad ratings was probably because Ryan was not really enjoying his new life in New York. The radio personality was previously reported to be living miserably in New York, where he had to tape for "Live". A source told Radar Online that relocating to the Big Apple was "the biggest mistake of his life." He allegedly became recluse and couldn't "wait until the weekends to fly back to his beloved LA!"
