Frank Miller's iconic comic book series is adapted for the small screen with 'Underworld' helmer Len Wiseman as a director.

AceShowbiz - "Sin City" is back. Instead of returning to the big screen, the neo-noir crime story is now heading to television. According to a scoop from Deadline, a TV series based on the Frank Miller iconic comic series is being developed by TWC/Dimension.

Len Wiseman ("Underworld", "Sleepy Hollow", "Lucifer") serves as a director and Glen Mazzara ("The Walking Dead", "The Shield") writes the script. The two will also produce the pilot with Miller and Stephen L'Heureux ("Sin City: A Dame to Kill for").

The TV adaptation is expected to "hew closely to the graphic novels". It will be "a far departure from the films, introducing original characters and timelines within the Sin City universe."

The first film released in 2005 followed three different people caught up in violent corruption in the dark and miserable town, Basin City. It's followed in 2014 by "A Dame to Kill for". Jessica Alba, Mickey Rourke, Bruce Willis and Rosario Dawson were among the cast.
