Real-Life Vigilante! Tom Hardy Goes Into 'Superhero Mode' to Take Down a Thief

The 'Mad Max: Fury Road' star helped the cops arrest a moped thief after turning the streets of London into a real-life 'action movie' over the weekend.

AceShowbiz - Tom Hardy went into a real-life vigilante when helping the cops chase a crook in London on Sunday, April 23. The "Mad Max: Fury Road" actor turned the streets of London into a real-life "action movie" as he appeared to "switch into superhero mode" when nabbing the thief who stole and crashed a moped.

It all started when two South London thieves ran a red light on the stolen moped, before crashing it into a Mercedes. While one of them was too injured to run and was quickly arrested by the cops, the other thief managed to run away, and that's when Hardy went into his "superhero mode" to chase the crook.

An eyewitness, 22-year-old Arun Pullen, told The Sun that Hardy sprinted through gardens, leaped over walls and through a building site, before proudly declaring, "I caught the c***." Explaining how Hardy finally caught the crook, Pullen said that the actor grabbed him by the scruff of the neck and patted him down for concealed weapons.

"It was mental - like he'd switched to superhero mode in an action movie. Two boys on the nicked moped had jumped a red light and smashed into a car," Pullen said. "Tom must have been walking down the road. He went off like a shot in pursuit and looked furious. If the kid had been dumb enough to resist I reckon Tom would have given him a good hiding."

Pullen watched as the actor, who lives nearby in Richmond, South West London, hauled the runaway thief into a bus stop and patted him down. "The kid looked wrecked and in shock," he said. "Tom Hardy's clearly not a man you'd mess with. I think he even checked the kid's ID before cops took over."

Pulen said that Hardy used the C-word to describe the thief. "I asked Tom what happened and he told me he chased him through my back garden and caught him around the block - but the route was like an assault course," he added.

39-year-old Hardy told the eyewitness, "This little s**t nicked something and now he's got himself a broken leg." Pullen concluded, "Tom did the public a great service."
