AceShowbiz - "Avengers: Infinity War" is a massive project since it will bring the Guardians of the Galaxy and the Avengers together in one movie. The fact that both teams will have an encounter with each other surely excites fans, but the "Guardians of the Galaxy" cast members admitted that they, at first, were concerned about the idea.

Drax depicter Dave Bautista suggested that they worried that there would be some alterations to their characters once they became a part of "The Avengers" movie. "I was afraid [the filmmakers] were going to try and take the Guardians in a different direction, and make us who were weren't," said Bautista to Cinema Blend.

However, he could breathe a sigh of relief since director Joe and Anthony Russo let "GOTG" cast to be themselves during the filming. Bautista said, "James [Gunn] created a lot of the dialogue and everything for the 'Guardians', but they really were encouraging about letting us be ourselves and be our characters and run with it, and do our thing as usual...there's a lot of improv, a lot of interaction between us as a cast, and they were all about it. So it was absolutely a great experience."

Gamora depicter Zoe Saldana said that they were eventually having fun with the project. "We started at the beginning of the year. It's been fun right now," said Saldana. "I think the Russos are doing an amazing job. The team of writers, including James Gunn, are going to do it great justice. I found myself in theory very overwhelmed with the thought of combining this entire universe in two movies. And I'm like, 'I wonder if we're going to overwhelm the audience, overstimulate ourselves, and overstimulate everybody!' But so far the way that they're going about it, it's quite powerful and awesome," she added.

Karen Gillan, who reprises her role as Nebula in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2", said that she was amazed to see the size of "Avengers: Infinity War" cast. "There's like 60 characters. I don't even know how the producers are trying to coordinate that. It shoots for like a year. It's amazing, and people are going to love it!" said Gillan.

"Avengers: Infinity War" is set to hit U.S. theaters on May 4, 2018. In the first set footage, Marvel Head Kevin Feige confirmed that the Avengers would team up with the Guardians of the Galaxy and Spider-Man in the movie. It has been said that the Avengers will be completely unprepared to face villain Thanos after the events in "Captain America: Civil War".

Other "Avengers: Infinity War" cast members include Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Tom Holland, Chris Pratt, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen and Josh Brolin.

"Game of Thrones" star Peter Dinklage is also starring and is speculated to play MODOK, while Benedict Cumberbatch will reprise his role as Doctor Strange. "Kong: Skull Island" actor Terry Notary will play the right-hand man of Thanos (Brolin) and recent report said that Thanos' servant Corvus Glave might also appear in the movie.
