Netflix reportedly has ordered a 13-episode new original comedy series targeting tweens and teens. Titled "Alexa & Katie", the comedy series taps Paris Berelc ("Mighty Med", "Lab Rats: Elite Force") and newcomer Isabel May to play titular characters Alexa and Katie respectively.

"Alexa & Katie" follows two lifelong best friends Alexa and Katie, who are eagerly anticipating the start of their freshman year of high school. However, the friends face a crisis that leaves them feeling like outsiders at a time when what seems to matter most is fitting in.

Heather Wordham ("Hannah Montana", "Reba") creates the show, while comedy veteran Matthew Carlson serves as showrunner. Both Wordham and Carlson are also set to executive produce the series.

"Alexa & Katie" will be the very first multi-camera comedy series produced by the streaming giant. The series joins Netflix's other tween sitcoms such as "Richie Rich", "Some Assembly Required" and "Project MC2".
