The comedian has decided to part ways with Sony's 'Barbie' live-action movie due to scheduling conflicts.

AceShowbiz - Amy Schumer is no longer the lead actress of Sony's "Barbie" live-action movie. The comedian was announced to star in the movie last December and recently did a polish for the script, but she eventually exits the project due to scheduling conflicts.
"Sadly, I'm no longer able to commit to 'Barbie' due to scheduling conflicts," Schumer says in a statement to Variety. "The film has so much promise, and Sony and Mattel have been great partners. I'm bummed, but look forward to seeing 'Barbie' on the big screen," she adds.
Schumer's busy schedule includes a long promotional tour for her upcoming movie "Snatched", which is set to be released in May. In addition, Schumer has been tapped to star in dramedy "She Came to Me" opposite Steve Carell and Nicole Kidman.
A spokesperson of Sony states that the news about filmmakers and new casting will be updated soon. "We respect and support Amy's decision. We look forward to bringing 'Barbie' to the world and sharing updates on casting and film-makers soon," says the spokesperson.
The upcoming "Barbie" live-action movie is said to be similar with "Splash" and "Enchanted". It follows the story of Barbie who is kicked from Barbieland for she is not good enough to stay there. After being kicked from her hometown, Barbie begins her adventure in the real world. The movie is set to start its production in June and is scheduled to be released on June 29, 2018.
Last December, Schumer received backlash after she was announced to be the movie's lead character. The actress later responded to the negative comments via her Instagram account. "I want to thank them for making it so evident that I am a great choice. It's that kind of response that let's you know something's wrong with our culture and we all need to work together to change it," she wrote.
In the meantime, we can see Schumer in comedy "Snatched", in which she stars opposite Goldie Hawn. The movie is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters on May 12.
