The team behind the project, which has been in development since 2013, is enthusiastic about McAdams' casting.

AceShowbiz - Rachel McAdams and Jason Bateman will appear in New Line's comedy "Game Night". The comedy will be produced by Bateman, James Garavante from Aggregate Films, as well as John Davis and John Fox from Davis Entertainment. Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, who both wrote the upcoming "Spider-Man: Homecoming", will serve as directors and the scribes.

"Game Night" has been in development since 2013, with its first script written by Mark Perez. Bateman has just recently signed to star in the movie, but Aggregate Films has been producing it since the pitch stage and Goldstein and Daley joined. The team is very enthusiastic about teaming up with Rachel McAdams.

The comedy follows the story of several couples who regularly gather for some game night, but then something goes awfully wrong.

"Game Night" marks McAdams' true comedy since "Wedding Crashers", which was released in 2005. Recently, McAdams appeared alongside Benedict Cumberbatch in Marvel's "Doctor Strange". In 2015, she played Sacha Pfeiffer in "Spotlight", for which she was nominated for Oscars' Best Performance by an Actress in Supporting Role. She will appear alongside Rachel Weisz in drama "Disobedience", which is currently in development.

Jason Bateman currently works on "Ozark", his upcoming Netflix drama series which he will star on, produce and direct. He is also known for his role in "Horrible Bosses" and Dreamworks and Paramount comedy "Office Christmas Party".

There's still no word on the additional cast members for "Game Night" and the film's official release date.
