'Good Girls Revolt' Canned by Amazon After One Season Only
TV

Despite the cancellation, the period drama series starring Genevieve Angelson might still continue season 2 somewhere else.

"Good Girls Revolt" is short-lived. After one season only, Amazon decides to ditch the drama based on a true story about a group of young female researchers navigating the sexist publishing world at a fictional News of the Week in 1969.

"Amazon passing on S2 of Good Girls Revolt. But so grateful we got to tell the story. We won the popular vote. Thank u," series creator Dana Calvo broke the news on Twitter while making a reference to Hillary Clinton's loss at the U.S. election.

One of the cast members, Genevieve Angelson, posted a similar note on her own social media, "Amazon decided to cancel GGR. Your roars of support elevated me from the darkest election in history & I'll never stop fighting back for us."

However, the show might not be completely off the table. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sony Pictures Television is working on acquiring the show's rights back from Amazon in hopes to shop it around somewhere else.
