Movie

Production on the Jason Momoa-led movie is expected to kick off early next year in Australia, but the helmer hints at choosing the Amalfi Coast as another filming location.

AceShowbiz - Production on "Aquaman" is expected to kick off early next year in Australia, but director James Wan is seemingly scouting other locations to film the Warner Bros. superhero flick. He took to Instagram on Thursday, September 8 to share a vacation picture of him at the Amalfi Coast, a stretch of Southern Italy.

The 39-year-old helmer wrote in the caption, "Hanging on a boat. What a gorgeous, picturesque location." He added, "Maybe for a movie of high sea-adventures?? #amalficoast," hinting at the possibility of choosing the location to film the Jason Momoa-led movie.

Also starring Amber Heard and Willem Dafoe, "Aquaman" is set for a July 27, 2018 release in U.S. theaters. The screenplay is provided by Will Beall ("Gangster Squad"), David Leslie Johnson ("Wrath of the Titans") and Kurt Johnstad ("300: Rise of an Empire") from a treatment by President of DC Entertainment Geoff Johns. Zack Snyder serves as producer.

Momoa made his debut as Arthur Curry a.k.a. Aquaman in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice". Before appearing in the "Aquaman" solo film, the Hawaiian actor will reprise his role as the Atlantean hero in "Justice League", which is set for a November 17, 2017 release.
