AceShowbiz - "Stranger Things" is officially picked up for second season by Netflix following rave reviews. While the first installment only has eight episodes, the upcoming one is announced to feature nine episodes. The synopsis is still under wraps, but it may have a Halloween theme.

"The adventure continues. Stranger Things 2 is coming 2017," it's confirmed along with a teaser. "Madmax, the boy who came back to life, the pumpkin patch, the palace, the storm, the Pollywog, the secret cabin, the brain, and the lost brother in the fall of 1984 ... the adventure continues."

The web TV series takes place in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana but it will not be the only setting. "We will venture a little bit outside of Hawkins," co-creator Matt Duffer told Entertainment Weekly. "I will say the opening scene [of the premiere] does not take place in Hawkins."

He said they took inspirations from James Cameron for the sophomore set. Most of the characters like Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Joyce (Winona Ryder), and Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) will return, but they haven't decided yet on Eleven the telekinetic girl (Millie Bobby Brown).

Meanwhile, executive producer Shawn levy revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that there were big stars who expressed their desire to join the show. "Certain actors that you have definitely heard of have raised their hand with real interest to be a part of it," he said. He didn't give any names, but actor Aaron Paul and director Guillermo Del Toro were among those professing their love for the show in the past.
