Something's Suspicious... Fans Are Not Convinced of 'The Blacklist' Latest Death
TV

Read fans' various reactions on Twitter after a major character appears to have died on the show and get a first look at the funeral.

AceShowbiz - It couldn't be true, right? In the latest episode of "The Blacklist", what was supposed to be a happy day ended up becoming a tragedy. [SPOILER ALERT!] Tom and Liz got into a car accident when they tried to escape Mr. Solomon and his henchmen who tried to abduct her at the wedding.

The accident compromised her baby and she had to undergo a c-section at a makeshift facility inside a nightclub. While the baby was delivered successfully, Liz had to be rushed to a hospital in an ambulance, but she died before arriving at the hospital.

An official Twitter page of the show addressed the death with a post which read, "We'll never forget you, dear friend. #TheBlacklist #BlacklistBombshell." However, fans are not convinced with the death. Instead of flooding the social media site with messages that expressed their sadness, they accused the show of faking Liz's death.

"not official yet!!! Drugs made her heart stop temporarily. Decoy," @barile33 wrote. @jglovier tweeted, "lies!!!!! LIES!!! She has to be alive!!!" This opinion is supported by the fact that Megan Boone who plays Liz is pregnant in real life and may need some time off for maternity leave. @RoseChimera1 pointed out, "No! I'm going with, she was pregnant IRL and needed time off from filming & she'll be back. RR hid her!"

Speaking to EW about the episode, James Spader doesn't give a direct answer when asked if Liz is really dead. "I think it's most prudent not only as just myself and what I know or don't know for that, but also in terms of the character of Reddington: Elizabeth Keen is dead," he says.

Nevertheless, pictures of her funeral have made their way out via the site.

Explaining how Red's dynamic will change after Liz's apparent death, Spader says, "That's in question. And for the moment, it's almost reflexive for him to live his life just one foot in front of the other and to take his life on a daily basis. And I don't mean not looking forward or looking ahead, he's always looking ahead, but I mean immediately - immediately upon her death I think he's lost."

The new episode titled "The Artax Network" airs Thursday, April 9/8c on NBC.
