Director of 'Jungle Book' Andy Serkis is pleased with the breathing room that Warner Bros. has given to his film.

AceShowbiz - "Jungle Book: Origins" is coming later than expected while "Wonder Woman", on the other hand, is inching closer than scheduled. Warner Bros. has made changes in the release dates for the highly-anticipated films in addition to announcing two dates for new unknown DC films.

"Jungle Book", directed by Andy Serkis, will now arrive October 19, 2018, slightly over a year from its October 6, 2017 original date, but Serkis is "absolutely thrilled" about the delay. In a written statement released on Wednesday, April 6, he said, "The ambition for this project is huge. What we are attempting is an unprecedented level of psychological and emotional nuance in morphing the phenomenal performances of our cast into the facial expressions of our animals."

He added, "So, every minute more that we have to evolve the technological pipeline will make all the difference. ...The evidence is there already and it's off the chain exciting, so hang on in there. ...This is truly next-generation storytelling, and it will be the real deal!" Jon Favreau's take on the Rudyard Kipling classic, "The Jungle Book" will arrive this April 15.

Meanwhile, "Wonder Woman" is ready to invade theaters June 2, 2017 after being moved up from its original June 23, 2017 date. Other untitled DC films will hit theaters October 5, 2018, and November 1, 2019. An unnamed WB "event film" has been dated for October 6, 2017.
