A washed-up British tennis pro, Peter Colt, is playing in what he believes will be his final Wimbledon tournament before retiring to a quiet life as a club pro. His world is turned upside down when he meets Lizzie Bradbury, a rising American tennis star known for her fierce determination and powerful game. As Peter begins an unexpected and passionate romance with Lizzie, his game unexpectedly transforms, and he starts winning matches he should have lost. However, their relationship creates a central conflict as Lizzie's overbearing father and manager worries that love is distracting his daughter from her path to championship glory. Directed by Richard Loncraine, this charming romantic comedy stars Paul Bettany as the unlikely underdog and Kirsten Dunst as the ambitious star, with a supporting cast including Sam Neill, Jon Favreau, and James McAvoy. Blending the thrill of professional sports with the warmth of a classic love story, Wimbledon explores whether love can truly coexist with ambition when the entire world is watching.
