The popular Vikings drama continues to prosper on its coveted time slot while the new biblical series becomes the latest victim of the death slot.

AceShowbiz - History has big faith in "Vikings". The cable network has given the drama series another 20-episode order which brings the show to a fifth season.
In an even bigger news, "The Tudors" star Jonathan Rhys-Meyers is joining the cast in the new season which will premiere in 2017. Details of his role are still kept a secret but expected to be revealed as the production begins this summer.
"Vikings", inspired by the saga of Icelandic Viking Ragnar Lothbrok, continues to post impressive numbers in its current fourth season. It tops the Thursday nights on cable in all key demos, pulling in 4.2 million viewers overall. History will air the second half of the season later this year.
On the other side, biblical drama "Of Kings and Prophets" failed to keep up with ABC's expectations. The Alphabet pulled it off air after two very low-rated episodes. It opened to 0.8 in the key demo of adult 18-49 and dipped to 0.5 in the second week.
Tuesday 10 P.M. slot will now be filled by "Beyond the Tank". To be fair, the time slot has not been very friendly to new shows. "Mind Games", "Lucky 7", "Killer Women" and most recently "Wicked City" were quickly yanked after posting a shameful rating for the network.
