'It hit very close to my heart for obvious reasons,' Kesha, who accuses Dr. Luke of raping her, wrote in a tweet following GaGa's set that included a number of sexual assault survivors.

AceShowbiz - Kesha, formerly Ke$ha, continues to express gratitude for the support she's received while she's still embroiled in a nasty legal war with Dr. Luke. Most recently, she thanked Lady GaGa for her powerful performance of "Til It Happens to You" at the 2016 Academy Awards on Sunday night, February 28.

In the same tweet, Kesha also thanked Vice President Joe Biden who spoke up about ending sexual assault before GaGa played her song. "Thank u @ladygaga and VP @JoeBiden for bringing attention to sexual assault at the oscars. it hit very close to my heart for obvious reasons," the "Tik Tok" hitmaker wrote.

Kesha, who's accusing Dr. Luke of sexually abusing her, has been trying to get out of her contract with the producer's Kemosabe Records. Earlier this month, a judge denied to release her from the deal, prompting fans and fellow musicians including GaGa to publicly show support for her.

Prior to the Oscars, GaGa tweeted that she'd be thinking of Kesha during her performance. "This is not over we'll stand by u until you are free to live a HAPPY life. Everyone deserves that," she wrote earlier on Sunday, just hours before she sat at a white piano and brought out a number of sexual assault survivors when she played "Til It Happens to You". The song was recorded by the Mother Monster for the documentary "The Hunting Ground" and it was nominated for the Best Original Song Award.
