The 'Saved by the Bell' alum was turning himself into a Wisconsin jail on Friday night, January 15.

AceShowbiz - Dustin Diamond is officially an inmate. The "Saved by the Bell" alum checked into a Wisconsin jail on Friday night, January 15 to begin his four-month sentence stemming from a bar stabbing incident last year.

Dustin was also sentenced to 15 months of probation after being convicted of carrying a concealed weapon and disorderly conduct state misdemeanor. The 39-year-old actor, however, was found not guilty of recklessly endangering public safety.

He agreed to begin serving his jail sentence back in December after dropping his appeal of the disorderly conduct conviction.

At the time of his sentencing, Dustin said, "I sincerely apologize to everyone involved. This was the single most terrifying experience of my life. This is all I've been able to think about for the last six months."

"I've got to say I'm really proud of him," Diamond's attorney Thomas Alberti told PEOPLE. "He gets it. I think he did the best that he could in the moment that he had to make the decision, but he certainly understands that you don't want to send the message to society that it should be the Wild West in a bar scene."
