Golden Globes 2016: Matt Damon, Sylvester Stallone Are Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor in Movie

Damon won Best Actor in a Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical, while Sylvester Stallone was named Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture at the Sunday night ceremony.

AceShowbiz - Matt Damon took home a gong at the 73rd Annual Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, January 10. After Ennio Morricon was announced as a winner in Best Original Score for his work in "The Hateful Eight", Damon was named Best Actor in a Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical for his performance in "The Martian".

"I've made a lot of movies that people just didn't go see," Damon said in his acceptance speech. "So to make one that everyone enjoyed this much."

Right after Damon's trophy was handed out, Amy Schumer and Jennifer Lawrence announced "Inside Out (2015)" as Best Animated Feature Film. Defeating "Anomalisa", "The Good Dinosaur", "The Peanuts Movie%" and "Shaun the Sheep Movie", "Inside Out" became the seventh Pixar movie to win since the award was created.

Also at the awards show, Sylvester Stallone won Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture for his performance as Rocky Balboa in "Creed", a "Rocky" spin-off starring Michael B. Jordan. Stallone managed to beat out other incredible actors in the category such as Michael Shannon ("99 Homes"), Idris Elba ("Beasts of No Nation"), Paul Dano ("Love & Mercy") and Mark Rylance ("Bridge of Spies"). "I want to thank my imaginary friend Rocky Balboa for being the best friend I ever had," Stallone said while accepting the award.

Meanwhile, Sam Smith's "Writing's on the Wall" won Best Original Song. The soundtrack of the 24th James Bond movie, "Spectre", won over fellow nominees including Ellie Goulding's "Love Me Like You Do" ("Fifty Shades of Grey"), Brian Wilson's "One Kind of Love" ("Love & Mercy"), Wiz Khalifa's "See You Again" ("Furious 7") and Sumi Jo's "Simple Song No. 3" ("Youth").
