'Mozart in the Jungle' beats the likes of 'Orange Is the New Black' and 'Veep' to become Best Television Series in Musical or Comedy, while Hamm wins his second Golden Globe for his role on 'Mad Men'.

AceShowbiz - Amazon Video once again presented the best comedy series, according to Golden Globe Awards. After the "Transparent" surprise win as Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy at the awards show last year, another TV series from the streaming service, "Mozart in the Jungle", won the same title this year.

The arguably lesser known show defeated strong competitors such as "Orange Is the New Black", "Silicon Valley", "Transparent" and "Veep" as well as Hulu's new series "Casual". Inspired by oboist Blair Tindall's 2005 memoir of her professional career in New York, "Mozart in the Jungle" had received praise from critics following its first season premiere in 2014.

Next to take home an award from the January 10 ceremony was "Wolf Hall". The British historical drama was named Best Miniseries or Motion Picture Made for Television. Its star Mark Rylance, however, failed to grab the trophy for Best Performance by an Actor in a Limited Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television, which went to Oscar Isaac for his role on HBO's "Show Me a Hero". Other actors vying for the trophy were Patrick Wilson ("Fargo"), Idris Elba ("Luther") and David Oyelowo ("Nightingale").

Christian Slater next showed up onstage to receive his award for Best Supporting Actor in a Television Series for his role on the critically acclaimed series "Mr. Robot". He thanked his wife "for making me the happiest man alive."

Jon Hamm got his own share of the spotlight when he was announced as the winner in Best Actor - TV Series, Drama. It's his second Golden Globe for his portrayal of Don Draper on "Mad Men". He praised other nominees such as Rami Malek ("Mr. Robot"), Wagner Moura ("Narcos"), Bob Odenkirk ("Better Call Saul") and Liev Schreiber ("Ray Donovan"). "Thank you for including me in this insanely talented group of actors," he said.

The 2016 Golden Globe Awards is currently airing live on NBC with Ricky Gervais as the host.
