Bruce Springsteen unwrapped his Christmas gift for fans when he stopped by "Saturday Night Live" over the weekend. In addition to performing with his The E Street Band to promote the deluxe reissue of his 1980 album, "The River", the veteran singer surprised viewers with a special performance with Paul McCartney.

Springsteen, who served as the episode's musical guest, first treated fans to the live renditions of "Meet Me in the City" and "The Ties That Bind" from his most recent project. Later, he brought out the "SNL" cast as well as hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler to close out the show with the Christmas classic "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town".

Macca casually made his way onto the stage at the beginning of the song with jingle bells in hand. The former member of The Beatles danced and sang along with everyone in the background as snow fell and the credits rolled.

Following their "SNL" appearance, Springsteen and his E Street Band are gearing up to support "The River" reissue with a tour. The 24-date North American trek is scheduled to launch in January 2016.
