When 'Arrow' returns in January, Oliver seeks revenge following the latest episode that leaves the fate of his beloved one hanging in the air.

Oliver's war against Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough) may cost the life of someone close to him. In the winter finale of "Arrow", [SPOILER ALERT!] Damien took Felicity into a gas chamber.
Fortunately, Laurel and Malcolm came just in time to help Oliver save Felicity. Oliver celebrated it by proposing to Felicity, but their happiness was cut short when Damien sent his henchmen to take care of Oliver. Oliver managed to dodge the bullets, but Felicity got shot and her condition didn't look good.
As the episode ended with a cliffhanger, people have begun speculating if Felicity is the one in the grave which was teased in the season premiere. A promo for the January return also shows Oliver staying by Felicity's side as she's taken to a hospital. He then attends a funeral and says in voiceover, "Now I know it's not my fault. It's my responsibility. To end it, I'm gonna kill him."
However, there are many reasons to believe that Felicity's not the one in the grave. In a set photo recently shared by Echo Kellum (Custis Holt) via ET Online's Instagram account, she's seen hanging out with Emily Bett Rickards (Felicity) who's wearing the engagement ring Oliver gave to Felicity, hinting that the character is still alive.
Moreover, in the sneak peek for the midseason return, Oliver doesn't look too sad for someone who lost a girlfriend he just proposed to. Star David Ramsey also said last month when asked about the theory that Felicity has fallen, "I just can't see them messing with that relationship. Also, I don't even know if [Oliver] would be able to talk if it was Felicity. He would just be so broken."
"Arrow" returns Wednesday, January 20 at 8 P.M. ET on The CW.
