The two will bring listeners back to early 2000s with the upbeat and poppy collaboration off the Backstreet Boys singer's upcoming solo album.

AceShowbiz - It's a lucky day for everyone who grew up listening to early 2000s music. As he geared up to release his new solo album, Nick Carter dropped on Tuesday, November 24 a brand new song called "Get Over Me" which features guest appearance from Avril Lavigne.

The upbeat and catchy pop tune sounds like something you would hear a lot on radio when pop/punk and boybands were dominating the music scene over a decade ago. On it, Nick and Avril play crazy and creepy ex-lovers who tell each other to get out of their lives.

"First time, it was amazing/ Two times, you acting crazy/ Three times, you want my baby, want my baby," they sing. "You're calling me every night/ Talking bout you and I/ I'm hanging up, this is my last goodbye/ So how can I make you see/ That there ain't no you and me."

"Get Over Me" will be featured on Nick's third solo album "All American" that's due out later this week. Last month, he revealed that he came up with an idea to do a song with Lavigne after they went on a tour with his group Backstreet Boys.

"I talked to Avril about doing a collab together, and we became friends - we were on tour together with the Backstreet Boys," he explained. "She was into the idea, and she really liked it. She liked the song that I had written, and she put her vocals on the song, and it was really cool."
