Bobbie Jean died just over a year after her brother Aaron Carter was found dead in his bathtub and 11 years after her sister Leslie Carter died from an overdose at 25.

AceShowbiz - Nick Carter has finally broken his silence on his sister's death. Nearly two weeks after Bobbie Jean Carter passed away at the age of 41, the Backstreet Boys singer paid tribute to his late sibling by sharing a throwback picture of the two.

The 43-year-old posted the said photo on Instagram on Thursday, January 4. Alongside the snap, which showed the two playing outside as kids, the crooner wrote, "It may take a lifetime to fully process the loss my family has endured over the years - most recently, with the sudden passing of our sister Bobbie Jean. I am completely heartbroken."

"Thank you for all your love and kind words. We are reminded again that life is precious, fleeting and to cherish the time we have with the ones we love," he added. "I know she is finally at peace with God. I love you BJ."

Bobbie Jean died just over a year after her brother Aaron Carter was found dead in his bathtub and 11 years after her sister Leslie Carter died from an overdose at 25. As for Aaron, he passed away after taking alprazolam and compressed gas difluoroethane.

Confirming the sad news of Bobbie's death was the family's matriarch, Jane Carter. She told TMZ last month, "I am in shock from learning of the sudden death of my daughter, Bobbie Jean; and I will need time to process the terrible reality of this happening for the third time. When I am able to think clearly, I'll release a fuller statement; but until then I would request to be left to grieve in private."

"[H]owever deeply a parent feels the loss of a child, the suffering of a young child at the loss of a parent must be much greater," she added. "So, I would ask the sympathetic to say a prayer for my precious eight year old granddaughter Bella, who previously lost her father and is now also left without her mother."
