Shannon Ruth, who previously sued the musician for allegedly raping her when she was 17 years old, fires back at him after the Backstreet Boys member filed a motion for summary judgment against her.

AceShowbiz - Nick Carter's sexual assault accuser wasn't happy with his recent filing. Through her legal team, Shannon Ruth addressed the Backstreet Boys singer's new allegations in a statement shared to Us Weekly on Thursday, May 9.
"Ms. Ruth disagrees with much of the information that is contained in Mr. Carter's motion for summary judgment," lawyer Mark Boskovich said. "She looks forward to being able to express her side of the story in her opposition."
This arrived after Nick filed a motion for summary judgment on Tuesday against Shannon, who previously sued the musician for allegedly raping her when she was 17 years old. In the filing, Nick's legal team claimed that Shannon was "desperate for her two minutes of fame."
"Ruth's goal was simple - gain as much attention as possible in hopes that Carter would be canceled. For a brief moment it worked," the docs read. "ABC canceled the Backstreet Boys’ Christmas special, A Very Backstreet Holiday, and Carter was left fighting for his innocence and his family."
"Now, over a year later, Carter has obtained all of the evidence necessary to prove that he has been telling the truth all along," it added, "he did not rape Ruth or anyone else for that matter."
Shannon filed a lawsuit against Nick in December 2022, accusing him of assaulting her following a 2001 Backstreet Boys concert. She claimed the crooner invited her to join him on his tour bus while she was waiting in line for an autograph after the show. The plaintiff alleged that Nick exposed himself to her and had her perform oral sex on him "under duress."
Aside from Shannon, Melissa Schuman also sued Nick for sexual assault and battery. In the lawsuit, the former member of the girl group Dream claimed that he allegedly performed oral sex on her and made her do the same to him despite her protests before he raped her.
