The British crooner calls the re-issue titled 'The Drowning Shadows Edition' his 'final bow before [his] second album.'

Sam Smith is re-releasing his acclaimed debut album, "In the Lonely Hour". On Friday, October 2, the British singer announced that he's dropping a double-disc set called "In The Lonely Hour: The Drowning Shadows Edition" which will boast songs off the original as well as a handful of new tracks.
The first disc will contain 14 songs from last year's "In the Lonely Hour". The second one will bear 9 tracks including reworks of "Lay Me Down" featuring John Legend, "I'm Not the Only One" with A$AP Rocky and "Stay With Me" with Mary J. Blige. There will also be an acoustic version of his latest collaboration with Disclosure, "Omen".
Additionally, the second disc will feature Smith's covers of Whitney Houston's "How Will I Know?" and Amy Winehouse's "Love Is a Losing Game" as well as a brand new song called "Drowning Shadows".
"This is a present directly from me to my fans," Smith told his fans on Instagram while also sharing the re-issue version's cover art. "This album, this journey has changed my life. So I have listened to all your wants and wishes and put some tracks on this album that you all wanted originally. I have also got a new song, and a special new cover for you all."
"This is my thank you to you all, and the final bow before my second album. Love you all," he added.
Notably absent from "The Drowning Shadows Edition" is "Writing's on the Wall", which Smith recorded for the upcoming "James Bond" movie "Spectre". The ballad has just landed at No. 1 on the U.K. singles chart, becoming the first-ever "Bond" song to do so.
