Drew Barrymore Taking a Break From Acting for Daughters
Movie

Once her new movie 'Miss You Already' hits the screen this November, Barrymore promises to invest on motherhood.

Drew Barrymore wants to treasure her daughters' golden years, stepping away from the limelight to concentrate on raising them. The actress announced that she won't be acting for a while after her upcoming film "Miss You Already" hits the screen.

"By no means am I abandoning acting," she told told U.K. paper The Times. "Nor am I pretending that I don't love acting, but I cannot do it right now, with my children. My whole universe revolves around my children, and the hours keep me away from them too much, and I'm not willing to do that."

Barrymore's eldest daughter is 3-year-old Olive and her youngest is 17-month-old Frankie. Recalling the time she read "Miss You Already" script, the wife of Will Kopelman said, "I was holding my newborn girl in one arm, and feeding my other girl in her highchair and turning the pages with my free hand and I was furious that I liked it so much."

While admitting that the "timing was all wrong," she ultimately decided that taking the "woman-driven" film role was the right choice for her daughters. But she swore that she would "invest" on motherhood once the film comes along. "Right now there is nothing I want more than to be with my kids," she said. "But maybe, through this film some other opportunity will come up and who knows?"

"Miss You Already" hits limited theaters on November 6. Barrymore plays a woman whose best friend is recently diagnosed with cancer. She stars opposite Toni Collette in the Catherine Hardwicke-directed drama.
