The latest James Bond theme song, "Writing's on the Wall", by Sam Smith is finally unveiled in its entirety. The track was recorded by the British singer for the upcoming 007 flick, "Spectre", which is due to arrive in North America starting November 6 this year.

The "Stay with Me" hitmaker tells a love story over haunting melody. He croons in the ballad, "I've been here before/ But always hit the floor/ I've spent a lifetime running/ And I always get away/ But with you I'm feeling something that makes me want to stay."

Former James Bond actor, Sir Roger Moore, praises Smith on Twitter, "@samsmithworld has delivered a very haunting and wonderfully orchestrated #spectre theme song. Well done!" The singer replies, "Unbelievable x Thank you so much @sirrogermoore."

In an interview on "Today" show after officially announced to sing the soundtrack, Smith made it clear that he wanted to "write a love song - something classic. Timeless."

He later breaks down the song in a new chat on "Morning Edition". He explains, "I tried to put myself in the shoes of Bond. My music is a diary and it's a recap of my life, and I wanted to bring that kind of honesty. In the lyrics - 'How do I live, how do I breathe?/ When you're not here I'm suffocating' - I wanted a touch of vulnerability from Bond, where you see into his heart a little bit."

"When it goes into the chorus, it's massive - and then I wanted it to sound like all the air was being sucked out of the song really quickly as it goes into 'How do I live, how do I breathe?' And then, it slowly raises again in that last moment to the final explosion, leaving it to the orchestra to then take it away," he continues.
