The NFL bosses reportedly want the boyband to be in a 'superstar line-up' along with Coldplay and Bruno Mars for the event's 50th anniversary.

AceShowbiz - One Direction may play another U.S. show before they take a lengthy break next year. Just a few days after concluding the last North American leg of their ongoing "On the Road Again" tour, new report has emerged suggesting that the boys are wanted to perform at the halftime of Super Bowl 50.

According to Daily Star, the British/Irish boyband is considered to be in a "superstar line-up" the NFL bosses are currently working on to celebrate the event's 50th anniversary. An insider told the news outlet, "[The NFL bosses] want a pop and rock mash-up and it is thought that Coldplay and Bruno Mars are in talks too."

"NFL bigwigs want a one-off show that will be remembered and garner the greatest audience figures ever. Obviously the 12-minute half-time show will be worth millions in revenue, sales and downloads too," the source added. "With the band finishing it would be the ultimate way for the group to say farewell to their fans."

Recently, it's reported that Mars was offered to headline the Super Bowl 50 halftime show in February 2016. However, the singer who performed at the big game in 2014 has yet to respond to the claim.
