AceShowbiz - Hozier covered a Sam Smith song when he visited BBC Radio 1's "Live Lounge" on Tuesday, September 1. With the help of a couple of backing vocalists and a band that included a cellist, the Irish singer turned the slow-tempo ballad "Lay Me Down" into a funky and upbeat song, which amazed lots of listeners including Smith himself.

The 23-year-old British crooner praised Hozier and his awesome cover in a tweet he posted later on Tuesday. "Brother @Hozier - f**king love the Live Lounge cover!!!! Anything you sing makes me heart jump xx Big kisses sir xx," he wrote.

Responding to Smith's compliment, Hozier took to his own Twitter page and wrote back, "Ahh! Thrilled you like it!! Was an absolute joy to cover - hope you're keeping well man x."

Hozier was on Tuesday's "Live Lounge" to promote his latest U.K. single "From Eden". He also performed the song, off his 2014 debut album which also featured the hit "Take Me to Church", during his appearance on the show.
