AceShowbiz - Irish musician Hozier took center stage as the musical guest on "Saturday Night Live" on December 21, delivering a memorable performance during the Martin Short-hosted episode.
Hozier's first song, "Too Sweet," showcased the singer's captivating vocal range and the retro-R&B groove that made it one of the top songs of the year. The song, originally intended for his 2023 album "Unreal Unearth," has become his highest-charting single since the musician's award-winning debut "Take Me to Church."
Later in the episode, Hozier took on a Christmas classic, covering The Pogues' "Fairytale of New York." The ballad, originally recorded with Kirsty MacColl, has been a holiday favorite in the UK and Ireland since the turn of the century.
Hozier's performance was particularly poignant given its timing just days after MacColl's death anniversary and Shane MacGowan's upcoming birthday despite its controversial lyrics which he altered for the sketch show.
