'X-Men: Apocalypse' Costume and Character Details Revealed
Movie

Director Bryan Singer teased that the upcoming movie would feature X-Men characters who wear 'the original colors of the original costumes from the 1963 comics.'

AceShowbiz - There are some noticeable differences in "X-Men" film adaptations when compared to the comic version. One of the differences is the characters' costumes which appeared to be darker than the costumes in the comic books. However, in recent interview with Yahoo, director Bryan Singer teased that in "X-Men: Apocalypse", the characters would look even more similar to the characters in the comic books. It probably means that the younger version of the characters in the upcoming movie will wear more colorful costumes just like in the comics.

During the interview, Singer was asked whether the X-Men would wear their traditional colored costumes in the film. The director answered, "In X-Men: First Class, which I produced and wrote the story for, we hark back to the original colors of the original costumes from the 1963 comics."

"I will say that in 'X-Men: Apocalypse', there is a chance - without giving anything away - that you may get closer to seeing what I think, Mr. X-Men News, you are interested in seeing. I know it's something that I've been interested in, I just always wanted to do it the right way," he added.

Singer said that the upcoming movie would feature different version of characters as Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender and Sophie Turner have been attached to portray the younger version of Mystique, Magneto and Jean Grey respectively. "These are very different characters than they were in the films 'X-Men' 1, 2, and 3," he pointed out.

"They are at times in their lives when they are at the most opposite of what they would become. That's a thrill to me, to take characters I crafted so many years ago and flip them completely on their side and show how they evolved and began," he explained.

The director also teased the difference between the villainous character in the previous movies and the ones in the upcoming movie. "This one is a bit different, it deals with the concept of ancient mutantism, gods and men. It deals with issues that are global," the director stated.

In "X-Men: Apocalypse" which will take place in the 80s, the X-Men members have to team up to fight a new and uniquely powerful enemy. Written by Simon Kinberg, the movie will open in U.S. theaters on May 27, 2016.
