U2 knows how to deal with technical problem at a live concert. When the band was forced to pause their performance at L.A.'s Forum earlier this week after a piano used during "Every Breaking Wave" malfunctioned, frontman Bono spent some time interacting with the crowd before bringing up onstage an Elvis Presley impersonator while technicians were figuring out what's wrong.
"One of my favorite performers is Steven Morrissey," Bono told the crowd after receiving flowers from an audience member, as quoted by Rolling Stone. "He does a great thing where he throws gladioli into the crowd." He later spotted the Elvis impersonator that stood near the stage and jokingly told him, "What's Elvis doing in the crowd? Dude, I have everything by you. Everything."
After bandmate the Edge told him the piano couldn't be used, Bono brought the fake Elvis onstage and asked him to sing a little bit of "Can't Help Falling in Love". The impersonator showed off his pipes and led a brief sing along while the crowd cheered him on.
The show was part of U2's ongoing "Innocence + Experience Tour", which will continue this weekend in Denver. The North American leg is scheduled to conclude on July 31 with an eight-night concert at New York's Madison Square Garden.
