During a stabbing trial on Friday, May 29, the former 'Saved by the Bell' star told jury that he didn't intentionally stab a man during a Christmas bar.

AceShowbiz - Dustin Diamond took a stand in his own defense at his stabbing trial on Friday, May 29. The former "Saved by the Bell" actor told jury that he didn't intentionally stab Casey Smet but he was trying to protect his fiancee Amanda Schultz during a bar fight back in December.

Dustin said some people wanted to shake his hand and posed for photos at the bar but others were bothering him and Amanda. "I felt like we were being set up for antagonistic purposes," he told a judge. He claimed he was trying to protect his fiancee after he saw her nose "pouring blood" during the brawl.

Dustin said he then took out his pocket knife to "take the flight out of the people." He later shouted at a group of people to let Amanda go and scuffled with a man before his fiancee was released and they left the bar.

The former child actor believed Casey hurt himself while grabbing him. He told jury, "Casey didn't even know he was injured, so how would I?"

But Ozaukee County District Attorney Adam Gerol argued that Dustin lied about what happened and his testimony was scripted. Adam then showed body-camera footage of Dustin's testimony to a Port Washington cop in the night of the incident. In the video, Dustin first told the police officer that he might have struck Casey with a pen. Later, he said he had a knife but hadn't used it to stab anyone at the bar.

Dustin pleaded not guilty to recklessly endangering public safety. If convicted, the 38-year-old actor could face up to 10 years in prison.
